The valley is ideal for leisurely walks: pastures, meadows and forests will help you rediscover the best nature has to offer. From June to October, you can gather a variety of mushrooms in the vicinity. They include porcini, finferli, and countless others. Please secure a permit from the Comune (the Town hall) before collecting mushrooms.
There are many opportunities for trekking and hiking. At 2050m, Mt Stivo towers the valley. Count on two hours to hike to the summit.
Mt Biaena (1618m) which starts at the meadows of Passo Bordala will take you to the summit from which you get a stupendous view of Rovereto, its Peace Bell (made from melted armaments from WWI), and the fast flowing Adige River.
Mount Creino (1292m) offers unparalleled and grand views of Lago di Garda. While in Creino, explore the well-preserved First World War trenches, a stark reminder that this area was once the Austro-Hungarian border (there is no entry fee). With history and the Dolomites as a backdrop, you can enjoy the serenity that peaceful times bring. UNESCO added the Dolomites to its World Heritage list in 2009.
