Rovereto
Rovereto is the largest town near Val di Gresta. Its 14th-century castle houses the Museo Storico della Guerra, a war museum containing an extensive collection of World War I material. Rovereto is also known for its Maria Dolens, or Peace Bell, made from war cannons to honor the fallen in wars. Several palaces are worth a visit: Palazzo Piomarta, Palazzo Fedrigotti, and Palazzo Rosmini. The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, which offers temporary exhibitions, educational activities, and a permanent collection, is also worth a visit.
