There´s lots to do. But we want to ´stress´ that the serene valley is also an excellent place to rejuvenate. To chill. To vegetate with our vegetables :-)

When you´re restored, you have endless possibilities for activities. The valley´s southern exposure provides an ideal climate for the practice of many activities from extreme sports to family-friendly excursions that will delight youngsters. Martinelli will be happy to assist you in making arrangements for plenty of fun.

You can go down to the lake at sea-level or trek a nearby mountain at high altitude . . . in the same day!

Whether road or mountain-biking, this is an area with more rides and routes than anyone could bike in a lifetime. Many of the mythical mountain passes from the Giro d´Italia or professional mountain-bike races criss-cross the valley. Here, and throughout Trentino, heroes were trained and legends were born.

Trentino is the ideal place for air sports: paragliding, hang-gliding, parachuting, base jumping and glider flight. Lake Garda itself offers at least a dozen sites appropriate for this sport. Many manufacturers of paragliders come to Garda Lake to test new equipment.

The valley is ideal for leisurely walks: pastures, meadows and forests will help you rediscover the best nature has to offer. From June to October, you can gather a variety of mushrooms in the vicinity. They include porcini, finferli, and countless others. Please secure a permit from the Comune (the Town hall) before collecting mushrooms.

Nearby Arco offers the best climbing opportunities. Martinelli lends helmets, harnesses, and snaplinks. Local guides are also available (contact us for more information).


Ski mountaineering Mt Stivo

Ski mountaineering

In January and February, the initiated can take up sci alpinismo or ski-mountaineering. Embark on a two-hour climb of snow-capped Mt Stivo, and enjoy a wild, 20-minute descent! Free snow shoes and other Alpine equipment are available to our guests. Martinelli will be happy to assist you with the planning of perfect itineraries.

Sightseeing Val Di Gresta

Sightseeing in Val Di Gresta

Sightseeing includes the ruins of the medieval castle of Nomesino, the Gresta Castle, and the ghost village of Corniano near Manzano. The Black Plague may have caused the demise of the village in 1630. You can still admire the old houses and the XVIth century frescoed-church of Santa Agata.

Rovereto is the largest town near Val di Gresta. Its 14th-century castle houses the Museo Storico della Guerra, a war museum containing an extensive collection of World War I material. Rovereto is also known for its Maria Dolens, or Peace Bell, made from war cannons to honor the fallen in wars.
